things are beginning to change here at newark. the faa about a minute ago sent out an update, update number four, saying they're making progress on restoring the critical information system that pilots need on the notice to air missions system. they said that departures are resuming here at newark airport and atlanta's airport due to air traffic congestion in these areas. we expect departures to resume at other airports at 9:00 a.m. we'll see if that happens. you see the orange delayed next to these flights and then you see yellow check in open, just in the last few minutes some of the earlier delayed flights turned into check-in open. now some of the open check-ins are for international flights. we spoke to several passengers checking in for international nights, those were never an issue. but we should see the board changing when it comes to delays. and another flight for fort lauderdale that showed departed at 7:15. this is partly international flights and domestic flights in this terminal. people get the information, hear ther

we saw newark airport earlier tonight. waterfalls coming down the escalators and the stairs at newark international airport. and just in the past hour, we have seen streets turning into rivers in new haven, connecticut. of course, the home to yale university where some of the dorms started to flood just as students arrive back on campus after a long coronavirus day. students moving into yale, and then beof course their dorms flooding. flooding in connecticut, rhode island, and into massachusetts, there are warnings now out of martha's vineyard and cape cod for severe weather moving through there. so these flood warnings. we are going to see them in multiple ways because as rivers crest in pennsylvania, new jersey, new york, we will see further flooding in the coming hours and days. but right now, the -- the more urgent emergency is to try to help folks who were standed overnight when the water just poured so quickly here in jersey and other states. just poured down so quickly that the local infrastructure was overwhelmed.
